Resource Management Support Clerk, HMCS Cabot (Naval Reserve Division), St. John’s, Newfoundland
Clerks look after general administration for members of their units. This includes jobs such as recording pay, booking travel and claims.
The best part of the job is the people you work with, talking to them after they return to the unit from a summer of training or a deployment, and listening to all their different experiences.
I was born and raised in Newfoundland. I graduated from Memorial University in 2012 with a Business Administration degree. I’m also currently enrolled in a Certified Management Accountant Strategic Leadership Program.
I joined the navy because I was looking for a good physical challenge. I was also very intrigued with the Basic Training experience.
The Naval Reserve is a great way to earn extra income and meet new and interesting people from across Canada.
I would like Canadians to know what a great organization the navy is. They should inquire as to whether there is a Naval Reserve unit in their local area and what opportunities they offer.
