NEPTUNE TRIDENT Role: The Commanding Officer of Her Majesty’s Canadian Ship (HMCS) Moncton
Previous Deployments: HMCS Winnipeg Operation Allied Protector- Counter-Piracy (2009)
Day job: I am the Commanding Officer of the ship. I am responsible for direction, co-ordination and control of the ship and her crew.
Why did you join the CAF: I was working in a cubicle and really not satisfied with my job, with my previous experience (as a Sea Cadet Officer) and having always enjoyed working on boats and on the water, I knew working navigation and a shipboard environment was an easy decision to make.
Why you have stayed in the CAF: The CAF, specifically the Royal Canadian Navy has offered me continual training enabling me to always challenge myself. The experiences throughout my career have been interesting, challenging and exciting. Plus, I have gotten to travel around the world.
Quote (General): Always learn from your mistakes and be willing to learn.
Quote (NEPTUNE TRIDENT) Experience: My crew and I are looking forward to working with African partner nations. We are looking forward to visiting the areas as well as participating in COMREL activities.
